Times Group, Reliance, Airtel are top app publishers in India: App Annie

As per the 2021 Top Publisher Awards by App Annie, the leading app publishers headquartered in India are Times Group, Reliance Industries, and Bharti Airtel. The top 10 list also features ShareChat, National Informatics Centre, Appyhigh, Dailyhunt, Inshorts, Yuvadvance, and One97.

In addition, the top 10 games publishers originating from India include Gametion, World Game Studio, Games2win, Moonfrog, Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Group, BlackLight Games, RV AppStudios, Rendered Ideas, Gameberry, and Gunjan Apps Studios.

App Annie derived the top 10 rankings based on global combined iOS App Store and Google Play games download estimates from App Annie Intelligence for the year 2020.

App Annie has been acknowledging the most innovative and successful mobile companies worldwide since 2012, presenting awards in various global and regional categories, including Gaming, Streaming, Food & Drink, Finance, Shopping, Entertainment, Health & Fitness, and Photo & Video.

The 2020 trend of increased reliance on mobile for connectivity, gaming, and entertainment is reflected in the awards, with gaming and streaming sectors dominating the global charts. The awards also recognize the best-in-class companies across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions in various categories.

Among the top 52 awards for publishers by app store revenue estimates in the last calendar year:

– Tencent and NetEase from China secured the top two spots for the fourth consecutive year.

– Playrix jumped to the third position, driven by Casual Puzzle Games like Gardenscapes – New Acres and Fishdom: Deep Dive.

In the regional top 30 awards, notable publishers include:
